Highlights of the Fifth General Meeting
This particular meeting allowed candidates for those running for the Executive Board 2017-2018 Academic Year to provide oral speeches to club members about their position they are currently running for and why they should vote for them.
The poll to vote for a specific candidate was sent in the following email to club members ONLY (those that paid for membership). There is still time to paid for membership however, to vote you must pay before the banquet since that is when we announce the winners of the executive positions.
Highlights of Fourth General Meeting
This meeting consisted of talking about frequently asked questions about the pathway to applying to veterinary school. Such as what type of classes a typical CSUF student should take like prerequisites, biology, chemistry, etc. courses, as well as the GRE examination test, and other fields that involve animals besides veterinarian medicine.
Puppy Therapy is this week on Wednesday April 12, 2017 at Titan Walk near the Pollak Library entrance. The sign-up sheet will be located down below.
Elections to be on next year's Exectutive Board for 2017-2018 will be on our next General Meeting on April 18, 2017 in TSU- Hetebrink AB. If you wish to become an executive board member, you must have a speech prepared describing why you are interested in the position you want and what you can bring to the club by being in that said position.
Available Positions: President, Vice President, Social Chair, Treasurer, Meeting Chair, ICC Representative, Outreach Program Coordinator, and Webmaster
If you wish to apply for the President position, you must be on the executive board from the following year. The other positions are available to all paid members to the club to apply.
Some of the executive board went to the APVMA Symposium last weekend at North Carolina to which they talk about their experience and what great opportunities were offered there.
We graciously had Allyne Moon from the Long Beach Shelter come down to speak with us about her daily routine at an animal shelter and offered an insight of the role of a registered veterinary technician. There is an intern program at her shelter, see below if you are interested. We also have a poll going for meeting being held on the weekends and at animal shelters and whether you can provide transportation or will need to car pool. Just fill out the poll below to vote. For the second poll, if you selected Need to Carpool,please fill out the contact form on the bottom of this page so we can schedule a carpool list.
Highlights of the First General Meeting
Miss the first meeting and wish to join the Pre-Veterinary Club, don't worry we got your back.
The first meeting discussed who is on the executive board and the benefits of being in our club such as focusing on what this semester will entail: The general requirements of applying to veterinary school, social events that we are planning, Puppy Therapy, guest speakers, and possible fundraisers. We also have a fundraiser in the coming weeks at Flame Broiler which is across campus from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Monday, February 27, 2017. You must have the flyer at purchase to contribute to the fundraiser. The flyer is per person so if additional people are attending please print multiple copies.
