Highlights of the Third Meeting
A speaker from Ross University spoke to members about their veterinary school and discussed what was required for new applicants and what to expect when learning veterinary medicine.
TV TAPING Also, sign-ups for TV taping have been posted, SIGN UP ONLY if you are going to attend. Also, we need drivers for the fundraisers depending on how many people are going, if you volunteer, you will earn extra PAW Points. The $10 deposit and sign-up deadline is March 14 so if you need to make an appointment to meet an executive officer to turn in the deposit, send a message to the club email.
SUTURE CLINIC Suture Clinic is approaching fast, so please sign-up with the link below. Please be sure to take the opportunity to attend this event since it is an important skill that 2nd year veterinary students learn, so be ahead of the game. The prices for this event are still being determined, we will email you the details once we receive this information. Deadline for sign-ups is March 19.
It will be in MaCarthy Hall 502. Tickets for Suture Clinic will be sold on the day of the event.
Membership Applications and Payments are due the Third General Meeting. If you do not turn in an application and/or pay your payment, you will not be considered part of the club and will nor receive PAW Points or earn them even if you attend meetings/events.
Highlights of the First General Meeting
Welcome back to all returning club members and a warm welcome to any new members! Here is a meeting recap of this semester’s first meeting for anyone who was not able to make it:
Upcoming fundraisers include our Chipotle fundraiser on February 21st, a tv taping for the show The Ranch on March 16th, and a second tv taping for the show Man with a Plan.
Upcoming events include Puppy Therapy on February 15th (sign up sheet can be found in your email inbox) from 12-4 pm on the Titan walk, Dinner with a Vet on April 12th @ 6 pm in Ontiveros AB located in the Titan Student Union on campus, and our Suture Clinic on March 21st at 7-9 pm in McCarthy Hall on campus (specific room will be announced at a later time).
PAW points will be rewarded to each member for attending meetings, events, and fundraisers. In order to be considered an active member for the semester each member must have accumulated at least 20 PAW points. The breakdown of the PAW points system is as follows:
2 points for each meeting (1 if you leave early)
4 points for attending field trips
4 points for attending fundraisers and social events (1 point for each additional person you bring)
5 points for participating in puppy therapy and the suture clinic
We are looking forward to spending another semester with all returning members and getting to know all new members! Our second general meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 20th @ 5:30-6:30 pm in Bradford AB.
