Santa Ana Zoo The Santa Ana Zoo, through fun, adventure, and learning, empowers the community to save wildlife and wild spaces. The Santa Ana Zoo at Prentice Park has been known as "a jewel of Orange County" since its opening in 1952. Today, this small zoo is an oasis in the city where families can play, learn, and spend time connecting with nature together. Featuring plants and animals of South America, the Santa Ana Zoo is home to many species of primates and a variety of endangered species from the region. Volunteers play an important role in many departments of the Zoo and Friends of Santa Ana Zoo (FOSAZ, a non-profit support organization). We truly could not do everything we do for the community without our volunteers. Everything we do contributes to our mission "To instill a passion for the natural world through recreation, conservation and education." Welcome to SAZOO, The Santa Ana Zoo at Prentice Park

OC Animal Care (OC Animal Shelter) OC Animal Care is extremely fortunate to have hundreds of dedicated volunteers that assist our shelter on a daily basis. Each year, our volunteers contribute more than 100,000 hours of service to the shelter. Volunteers assist by hosting donation drives, socializing and grooming available animals, leading shelter tours, educating the public about responsible pet ownership, attending community events, and participating in special shelter events. Our volunteers play an integral role in placing animals and promoting shelter adoption. We couldn’t do everything that we do without their support! APVMA SYMPOSIUM March 24-25 2023 The APVMA Symposium is an annual two-day event that brings together prospective pre-veterinary students from all over the country. This event is a great opportunity for students to learn more about the field of veterinary medicine. It is a great experience because it exposes and provides students with an opportunity to speak with representatives from different veterinary schools while attending. The National Symposium this year will be hosted by Kansas State University with both virtual and in person options for those still unable to travel. The APVMA Symposium comes with many learning prospects, new friendships, and a greater sense of how to achieve the dreams of becoming a veterinarian. An entire day of the symposium is filled with lectures and hands-on labs pertaining to advances, techniques, and opportunities in the field of veterinary medicine. Hopefully this year, we will provide a similar aspect that we've achieved in past symposiums. Although we will not have hands-on labs, but they will be virtual so you can still learn an abundant amount of information. Lectures will be given by individuals in the field of veterinary medicine that have made significant contributions to the profession. Additionally, there are sessions about the veterinary application process, preparing for veterinary school and much more! This Year's APVMA Symposium - TO PROMOTE AND STIMULATE INTEREST IN THE FIELD OF VETERINARY MEDICINE
